they do happen fast in the electronics business, but this is too fast, lets be realistic here, this new price drop comes just a couple months after the last, that is not the way a product that is doing well is priced. The price is dropping fast because no one is buying the console, period, and that goes for the EU as well, otherwise they would not be dropping it there. Also, why did the 360 wait so long to drop the price if this constant price dropping is so normal?
everyone will not be happy, folks who just paid the old price may be a little put off by yet another price drop. Also, all these price drops so soon after launch and so close together make sony look desperate and prove that the console was overpriced in the first place.

The reason this is a big deal is because once again the Sony side has forgot about the competition, XBL arcade is selling games that do not suck, and the 360 is less expensive, so this becomes one more reason to buy a 360 instead of a PS3, PS3 downloadable games even suck and get bad reviews, is what the casuals will think.

This kind of stuff really makes you wonder why anyone would buy a PS3 right now, it also makes me really question the future of that console, what ever the trouble is with PS3 developing, i dont think devs will put up with it much longer with such a tiny installed base. Also, i think gaming journalist should be warning potential PS3 buyers of this situation, many casual buyers still think Sony is the always safe bet they used to be in gaming, things have changed, they are not.
I dont know if they will be up for sale but I'm willing to bet they will be done wasting time and money on the PS3.
drop the wifi, drop the BC chip, add wired controllers, no wireless controllers, blutooth will be dropped as well. This is just sad, Sony is in huge trouble the signs are everywhere. So what are they going to do next, declare the PS2 their actual next gen console and try and convince developers to put all their next gen games on the PS2. Ps2 was something Sony did right so now they dont want to let go of it, reminds me of those losers who were popular in high school so now they live in the past, and can't let go and face the reality that they are losers as adults. i think it was pretty neat, this game is a buy for me for sure.
this is just one more example of the superior ownership experience that the 360 offers, since i purchased my 360 it has not stopped giving, a very important aspect of a product is value, and 360 just gives me more things that i can actually use than my PS3. Minus the fact im on my second unit since launch, it has very few negatives.
in fact this writer is one of the few who is still writing crap like this, most others have realized that
A)if it was Sony who secured exclusivity everyone would be saying how great it is and how they have taken 1 more step towards winning.
B)This is good for competition for the very reasons you stated, in fact if you own a dual format player or plan to get one, then this is great, it only means prices fall faster and movies come out sooner.

The Japanese are sure short on ideas these days, why would anyone want to play the same game over again, Im sure it will sell OK but I dont think it will be a console savior. I think at least outside of Japan, folks are getting just a little tired of FF type games with girly boys prancing around as the protagonist. I used to love the series but not anymore, it all seems too weird, and a little gay now that i'm older.
no one knows how much the 360 is outselling PS3 by in the EU, there are no reliable numbers from EU sales. Also, PS3 was the market leader the last two gens, the name rec is waay bigger than the xbox name, it should be outselling the 360 by 5 times, especially since Sony tells us it is so much more powerful and Sony fans tell us PS3 games are so much better than the 360 and all it's FPSs. So don't give me this "PS3 is doing well for a 600 dollar system" crap, Sony projected the PS3 ...
